Crossing problem at San Ysidro

Is it still a problem going South to cross at San Ysidro? meaning are the Police, US still stopping you prior to entry into Mexico, and then being hassled by the Military upon entrance, or would it be better to go thru Tecate, and if the road with contruction is so bad, I could go thru the toll from Tecate to Blvd 2000 is this all good or bad?

That way is all good and a good option if you don't mind the few extra miles. I really like that stretch of toll road...especially this time of year. Lots of color and the road is usually empty. I think that's because of the high price for the Mexican drivers, 80 Ps for 16 miles I think is what it is.

yup, the tecate toll road is pricey.

The southbound san ysidro checkponts on the US side are hit or miss. They don't seem to have a schedule yet. The results they announced from last week showed they didn'tt get any significant cash, guns or drugs- but did ticket dozens of peolpe for cruising down the breakdown lanes.
