Puerto Vallarta May 13th
After participating in a delivery of police and emergency vehicles to towns near Ayutla, I'll be based in PV for a week while I explore the area.
Please forward your favorite places and ways to enjoy the community. A friendly bar would be a nice start. First Michelada is on me.

Roger, PV is almost like Las Vegas...there are so many places to hang. Like Cabo, the PV crowds deter me, so I seldom get back there anymore, but I
do like a nautical-style bar in Marina Vallarta owned by a old Baja amigo. Captain Morgan's on the malecon. The marina residents give it a
Cheers-like atmosphere. Easy drive, walk from boat slip, good company, a happening place for late afternoon, early evening spot. He has 2
air-conditioned sections with covered terrace overlooking the marina. Good spot for sunsets and away from the crush. I especially liked Joe's
barbequed ribs, plus both the lobster and king crab are top rate.
Roger, want to try a namesake's place? Here's a dinner place we went once and liked..plus the owner's name is Roger. Called "Chef Roger", it's
downtown (Basilio Badillo 180).
In a nice former home, you eat on a deck built over a pool..pretty cozy and enclosed..eat under the stars. I had a rack of lamb there that I still
dream about. Owner/chef is Swiss and if I go back, I 'll try the beef fondue. Nice tranquil place.
Maybe we should start a Rogers Club and go there en masse! That would be hoot.

Roger..........try to find "Bar de Oro" in old town. Great place to eat and drink. You may not see a grino there. They feed you for free after you
order your 3rd beer. A 3 coursse meal. Tortilla maker right inside the bar. Good luck.

There are a few very good restaurants along the river. As for accomodations, I would really stay away from the big oceanfront hotels. Amazing little
gem is the Casa Iguana in Mismaloya. Far from the crowds. In the jungle, yet a five minute walk to the beach. Kitchens. Frankly, I would not stay
anywhere else in the PV area.

It's a village. I visited there about 13 years ago but did not spend the night. You take a water taxi to get there. Don't know if it's still
uncrowded.

Roger. there are many places to eat in PV. I just looked at my notes and have a list of about 20 places. Just remember when you go ask a lot of
questions and you will be fine.. Also mexonile.com has a site for PV. Have a great time.
