What is interesting is that the H1N1 virus apparently skipped Baja norte and TJ! It's a miracle that reported cases are only on the US side! The
border works- even for viruses apparently!
The reality is that Mexcio was asleep at the switch for weeks on this. They didn't come clean to the Mexican public about what was or wasn't being
done. They didn't searchfor or report all their flu cases, they didn't quickly test the samples they had and now US and Canadian teams are going
village to village to really find out what is going on. The sad part is that this flu is not atually more dangerous than the seasonal flu- just more
widespread and new.

Actually on another thread, there is a link to a story saying that there were ten confirmed cases in Mexicali and one in Ensenada.
That being said, despite your opinion on the efficacy of Mexico's reaction, I've seen more than one report from medical authorities around the world
praising Mexico for its efforts. Problem is that because the flu is so relatively mild, almost all confirmations, regardless of country have come
after the victim has recovered. And, even today, no one in a position of authority is even stating just where this got started. Even as to what
country. Conventional wisdom points the finger at Veracruz. But, it is not yet a slam dunk.

Ensenada and Mexicali cases- but not ONE case in TJ? That's just not possible or credible. Mexico initially looked like it had done and is doing the
right things- but now is getting a critical second-look from WHO and the world on their handling of it. JMHO
