Camping Mag Bay
We are planning a trip to Mag Bay to do some camping and fishing. There are five of us in two vehicles and debated taking the boat or the quads we
can not take both. Which would you take??
We may spend up to a week there or more.. Does any one have any tips on camping and fishing there..
Thanks...

Just my preference. I'd take the quads. You can most likely rent a ponga & guide. I'd Google Earth Mag Bay and print up the areas you'd like to
ride and also talk to some locals about where to explore and how they feel about quads. It is really important for the rest of us that like to ride we
don't pee the locals off. Let us know how your trip goes. I haven't been there so I have some of the same questions. Have fun!

For fishing I would take a small boat and fish the Mangroves. The quads are fun and you can see a lot of country, but it is mainly flat around the
bay and the beachs don't yield many treasures if you beachcomb -- although you can go for miles if you are at the north or south end of the Bay.

At that time of year I would definitely pull down the boat. You should be just in time for the marlin pileup on the Thetis. I would launch at PLM and
set up a beach camp on Bahia Santa Maria.

Were headed down the first part of december with the campers and boats, is there anything left after Jimena? Were trying to decide if it is a viable
option, are there places to camp, has crime gotten worse since so many people have lost everyhting? All input is greatly appreciated.Steve

Good point. Infrastructure was badly damaged. If you are self-contained enough to be on your own, shouldn't be a problem.
