Ray's new RV park - Mulege
Did anybody stay there this past winter? I drove out to see it last fall before it opened for the season and liked what I saw.
How was it? Crowded? Quiet? What does he charge? Does he have no hook-ups, cheaper spots?
TIA

Ray's has a nice spot there. The problem is getting there on the narrow dusty road from Mulege. Better tie down anything that will move and be ready
to eat a lot of dust.

Geo - when are you taking your RV back down? i am surprised you retrieved it. guess you use it for summers up north?
i am trying to talk afriend into "retiring" his to Serenidad permanently so i can use it. He flies too. Won't take his prized RAM 210 down anymore
cause of thefts so he bought an Aztec just for the baja rig.
See you at Marlin's this fall i hope.

Mike- Brought the RV back from Baja for some cruising around the Pac northwest and Canada this summer. Will probably take it back in late Oct. or
November. By then maybe I'll be mentally ready to brush mirrors with the 18 wheelers on the Baja road again.
Thankfully my Lancair isn't too popular with the drug set, so I don't worry too much about getting it ripped off.
Hope to see you around Mulege this fall.

Ray's isn't likely to get flooded. It's up in the "garden" section. A little west
of town, got some citrus orchards etc. and dusty roads between here and there.

FOOD!...but....he's closed now for the summer so woe is us; we're here and he's not...boo hoo

Ray told me this winter he was relocating to the beach again.
He does not like the valley area.
I wonder what will happen to the RV park?

We spent an afternoon with Ray and his friend and worker Ramon exploring and he never said anything about moving back to the beach. This was around
the 5th of May 2009 He has a wonderful place out there and was quite happy with the resturant where it is. He said he had hated the drive back and
forth when the resturant was on the beach, especially at night. Maybe Kat 54 misunderstood him or maybe my husband and I misunderstood him. But we
definately got the impression he was happy where he was. I sure hope he stays where he is...we love the place. We have plans to meet up with Ray in
Sept. and I will be asking him about this.

Ray wants to relocate to the beach.
No misunderstanding here.
Maybe he did not tell you everything because you did not ask?

It does flood out there in the valley, as in Hurricane John. The water cascades down all the arroyos from the mountains and fills the campos there. It
may get to 3 or 4', but nothing like the communities along the Mulege River get.
Until now I have not heard any talk of Ray wanting to move back to the beach. Not even from him personally, but then, I didn't know to ask. Kat54, is
he talking about just the restaurant or the RV Park and personal residence too?

As of two weeks ago, in conversation with Ray....
...... he said he and Favy were quite happy there. He said it was a nightmare running a restaurant at Sanispac without power and water.
He now has email : raysrancho@yahoo.com

Aside from the road, which is bumpy, Rays was the most tranquil RV park I have ever stayed in. Excellent food and peace and quiet. At one point that
evening, I looked at our dogs and their ears were doing 360's trying to find some sound. My husband and I commented on the fact that it was
deafening, it was so quiet.
Did I mention that it was quiet.
We had a wonderful stay.

i'll betcha he has connections and can get a license or lease on some beach property to run an RV campo on.
that's where the folks want to go with their rigs i think.
