Shell Island 6-6-09
OK all you Shell Island fans. Great weather, no wind. No fishing, but beer was cold! Beach deserted, very quiet. Very nice. Schools of sardines
running the beach line. Snagged one by mistake while casting for corvina.
Looking toward Bahia Santa Maria
Looking South
Percebu was quiet. Stop in and sample the great food & drink

Nice photos. Looks like a good time. I believe your "sardine" is an anchove though.

Ok, David K will be jealous! This is one of his favorite spots for camping! And, no wind.... unreal!

Our beach house is located only a mile south of Shell Island and starting today we'll be there for 10 days.
Man, I can't wait...leaving in about 10 hours from now...
Haven't had a bad trip yet....

Thanks Chris
for sharing the great photos. Although we've opted for the Oregon coast for the summer, we miss the beach at BSM.

Russ - thanks for clarification. I wasn't sure if they were Anchovies or Sardines. There were fishing boats out working at night. Since shrimp season
is over, could they be netting anchovies? The boats looked like shrimpers.
Chuck - have fun! Hopefully the weather will cooperate for you & stay nice.
Looking forward to October!
