GRAND BAJA NEWS from a HUGE EVENT

Golf4Niños Charity & Fiesta was a smashing success at Baja Country Club Saturday, June 13, with perfect weather.

2 photo albums available today, more forthcoming...

Sunday article in El Vigia...
http://www.elvigia.net/noticias/?seccion=generales&id=51...

Lizard Lips, our tournament founder, ramrodded an excellent event for the 2nd year. BajaGeoff, Beachbum1a, BajaGuy, Bajablonde, DorBaja, Udo Winkler, GC, DENNIS, BigMike and whoknowswhom I am missing were on the course, at the FIESTA and/or contributed time/energy/$. Will hope for a bigger Nomad turnout in 2010.

Bajabound2005 and Bajamigo also gave us some special assistance this year, although they couldn't be at the Fiesta.

64 golfers, 264 tickets sold to Fiesta and we may have reached our 300 person goal. Amaretto Blues Band bounced our bootays, El Campeon Tacos Espectacular provided a scrumptous feast, the auction had great items and the raffle provided lots of fun for those throwing a $1 chance at it. More than 100 total prizes were awarded.

We are still bean-counting, but we will move well past $10,000 profits. All profits go to www.aguavivdc.com shelter, village, daycare and orphanage on south side of Ensenada.

Will be updating http://golf4ninos.wordpress.com pages in an attempt to thank so many who helped.

First thought looking at the picture, there's a bypass around Ensenada.:(:(:(

Thank you so much for donations, gifts and support. With all of the other conversations happening on Nomad, hope there is motivation for more trip reports, photos of great Baja scenery and fun events like Golf4Ninos.

Any ideas on how to attract more Nomads in 2010 appreciated. It was a grand fiesta and some of us continued on past midnight, last saturday, solving the world's problems.

Forgot to give credit to Nomad Beachbum1A's photos here...

WRAPUP

Humble ceremony at Agua Viva today/Saturday, south side of Ensenada. Directors of Golf4Niños and Punta Banda community members met at 1PM for a 30 minute ceremony.

We celebrated Jon & Arlene's hard work. Heck, Golf4Niños simply held a party. Jon & Arlene do the tough job every day providing leadership, education and basics for children.

2009 recognition plaque was presented to Team Agua Viva from our G4N Directors, as well as the LARGE check, thanks to your generosity. Donations are still trickling in to our website. We have more than DOUBLED the gift to Agua Viva from our inaugural event of 2008. http://Golf4Ninos.wordpress.com
Donations accepted and recognized 24/7/365/any millenium/any galaxy.

Food, clothing, vehicle repairs, gasoline, utilities, shoes and all of the stuff that most of us have without much effort are provided for Agua Viva for a few more months thanks to our community effort. We also made some new friends today and found some new volunteers to donate an hour or 2 at Agua Viva.

Great reviews from Golf4Niños June 13 event. Still working out a few details. AND you don't have to be a golfer to have a blast at this annual FIESTA. ANY IDEAS on how to get more Nomads here next year to BOOGIE appreciated. Amaretto Blues Band ROCKS! Any questions, request for information and other stuff: docdockerty@msn.com

Photo album, courtesy of G4N Director of Marketing, Jay Dworsky, aka "WHINE-KNOW" of Punta Banda...

Special thanks to Nomad CHARTER G4N sponsors: BajaBound.com, Sociedad de Vecinos/Punta Banda, Punta Band Yacht Club AND our host, Baja Country Club.

We are planning for more fun in 2010. Watch for an announcement on that date soon.
