Hey baseball fans in BCS!!!!!
Are there any professional teams over there? Does La Paz have a team? Or maybe Los Cabos?
I have begun a quest to visit all the baseball stadiums in Mexico and dont see a team listed for your area. I have checked the Mexican League and the
Liga del Pacifico. Is there another league?
Man, a city in Mexico has GOT to have an equipo de beisbol..............

The Mulege Cardinales is a really good baseball team. They participate in a BCS league. I am not sure what other areas that you mentioned have teams.
The Cardinales play Guerrero Negro, Viscaino, San Lucas, Santa Rosalia. I don't recall any of the others.
People had told me about them and I thought, "Yeah yeah, how good can they be?" Well, the first time I went I was blown away. The skill level is
fantastic. They play their hearts out and they are not a bunch of millionaire cry babies. The fielders will dive for a hit ball and usually come up
with it, sometimes injuring themselves. The hitting is also very good when the pitching is not so hot. Lots of homeruns. And yet, sometimes you will
see great pitching.
I hear they are scouted regularly by U.S. teams. They have their own stadium, bleachers, 2 dugouts, and the announcing booth has recorded organ music
with familiar tunes, like Take Me Out to the Ballgame, Charge, and 4 quarter notes advancing chromatically up the scale. There is the familiar
clapping and stomping the feet, as in Clap Clap Boom, Clap Clap Boom. They also have recorded taunts which they direct at the opposing team, like a
woman laughing hysterically, or Ha ha ha. Each team brings their own cheerleading team, mostly teenage girls. They sell beer, tacos and even hot dogs.
There is even a Mariachi band! All in all, a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, often for a double header.

Nearly every community (excluding the big cities) has two separate baseball leagues.
The winter league, called Segunda Fuerza (Second Force) is played by all ages and they have a good time, Mostly a fun organization! And there is no
charge to attend a game.
The summer league, called Primer Fuerza (First Force) is played by the more adept players, some of which are payed to play. In fact some communities
import players from other areas, and pay them to play. This is a very serious group of players. There is usually an admittance fee, like 20-25 pesos
to watch the game.
Both leagues provide lots of entertainment for the local people.
The larger cities have professional teams, on a par with what we would call Class A Ball.
All are Home RUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On our trip around New Years, I was amazed at how many *new* fields had been built over the past few years along the entire peninsula.
I'm guessing my personal obsessions/passions for both Baja and Baseball - including youth baseball - will start connecting more and more in the
upcoming years/decades......

How can I find out more info on these AA and A leagues?
Looks like my itinerary has increased dramatically. I might have to limit it to the "major" leagues. I have attended several games over here at the
Guaymas Ostioneros stadium.
No teenage cheerleaders, though.............
