Heading South, finally

Crossing at Tecate early Thursday morning 7-9-09. On my way to San Juanico. I'm giving myself 3-4 days to get there. I want to try a different way this time, through San Jose de Magdelena, Mission Guadalupe and out at Cadeje. Has anyone gone this way recently / ever. I'm leaving the XR at home this time and driving a Tacoma 4x4 hauling a green kayak and surfboard. I'm traveling solo and hope to meet some Nomads along the way.
I'll take pictures and post a trip report when I get back.

Hi we did it in January and the road was fine -- for a backroad. Not fast and very little traffic but a great trip. Some of the ranches have signs out selling gas. Take lots of pictures and good luck. Paul
