:lol: according to article they are asking US $146k/unit. doubt it could be a profitable business venture for anything north of $60k/unit, if that

You're not figuring in the value of being able to launder money through the properties.

Who said anything about actually MAKING money on the properties?

What a strange time to be trying to sell hotels. This chain really consists to two separate operations in that the small units in Catavina, Guerrero Negro and San Ignacio tend to serve Baja travelers overnight. While the others, are more destination oriented, with San Quintin and Loreto situated on the water.

@Hook, do you think is better to promote the chain as "Money laundry for sale" maybe lots of narco and kidnappers may bite the bait, then federals can cought them "hands on dough"

I have stayed at each of them one time or another over the last 20+ years back through the La Pintas. Never had a bad experience and with their frequent flyer card I never paid more than $60us a night, usually less. I hope the next buyer keeps it together.

I pretty much agree with Oso..and I have always been stunned by the great water pressure in the showers at Catavina! Pretty much the middle of nowhere but they rock! And since you're in Baja and not worried about time, you don't care about the speed of the restaurant, right?? Catavina seems the most necessary of this chain and just about right for that first day destination...I hope someone keeps it open.

Catavina is also unique, as it is off the grid. I beleive that's a main reason for them no longer pumping Pemex there. Using a generator to run the gas pump..... But is is a long way from El Rosario to Jesus Maria.
