Mega Marlin

a 1000+ pound marlin was just caught on the east coast during a fishing tournament. Don't know more than that.

That marlin has been all over the news. Said to be worth over a half-million dollars to the angler.

It simply means that all of the line, tackle, and gear must break at less than 80 lbs. It is an International Game Fish Association line class. They can use a specified length of leader which can test significantly higher at like 250-300 lbs.
If the fish is submitted for a record to the IGFA, then all of the gear must be submitted and tested to make sure that it becomes approved. If it is not submitted, then it is just a statement of the approximate line test with matching rod and reel.

To All those Questions"

To me the avatar is offensive as the first thing you see is "Kiss my Ass" when you open the Thread. It would be the same as turned around and a guy shaking his Dong saying"Suck my !'

Now Sallys little boy is a complete different thing as it tells an innocent story of a little boy taking a Pee.

Is it not an insult to the viewer when they get Shined??

Maybe you're just joking around about being offended. But if a grown man of your age and experience gets his panties in a wad about an avatar...Well, that's simply pathetic. Buck up old timer.

Thanks, Skeet/Loreto...we were offended by that avatar, too.

Squid's remark about being racist is perhaps a mistaken one. I believe she is referring to her husband's replacement avatar which is the Mexican flag. Got a little confusing here and there, I expect.

What all this has to do with a record marlin is beyond me. I would not kill a marlin...catch and release with a beacon tag gets a big yes.

Me too on the Marlin> The only way to eat Marlin is smoked by a Mexicano who knows what he is doing.

I hooked many marlin in my years on the Cortez never put one in the Boat..
Now A Theasher Shark is a different Story.

There is another confusion: The guy w/ the avatar IS NOT MY HUSBAND.
And: Am I missing something? I see an avatar which is a comic drawing waving a Mexican flag.
Did Skeet maybe want that the flag should be a US flag???? rediciously if so. I really hope I'm wrong.

On the Marlin: Well Skeet, 555,000 USD might change your mind about the Marlin. You would be the first American who is not interersted in $$$$$ (And Mexicans alike)
Now answer and be honest.
