From the Bahia Asuncion Fishing Tournament

We will leave it to Shari to cover all of the details about the fishing part of the tournament. We decided to cover a few other things other than the fishing.

Started early

In her own dream world.

Who cares about fishing??

Kicking back and having fun.

Always the ice cream vendors.

Really enjoying the ice cream

Or a banana

And, enjoying being the queen.

OK, he is fishing or dancing?

If they are going to feed the community, someone has to clean them.

And someone has to cook them.

And someone has to eat them, including the governor

OK, just a couple of fishing pictures.

First fist caught in the surf very early by this young man.

And our friend Victor carrying in the number 2 fish for his brother Armando.

Fiesta is over for now---lots of fun, but also nice to have the town quiet once again.

John and Diane

I sooo love the dream world girl...and the fisher dancer...well...actually all of the photos are fantastic...but yep, sure glad it's over...whew...it will take us a few days to recover and clean up the mess.

Here are a few more pics of the day starting with the sunrise tournament start...yawn...the little guy who caught the first fish also won 1st prize for his halibut..he was one serious dude and it was so cute to see him running up the beach to the weigh in station...he is one of the ones in the water up to his waist.

Awesome pics. Like the dream girl too (so sweet), but the action shot of the surf fishers is my favorite.

Thanks for the nice comments about the pictures- My personal favorite is Dream Girl and I love DavidT's comment about that photo and the one of Jorge in the sand.

Bajaboy, I was able to get that really sweet smile from the queen when I told her the picture was for you and your family.

Laurie, hope you and others are able to be here next year---fun time.

Diane

Diane,

Your photos are going to end up costing me a bundle. I'm going to have to break down and buy a new camera to keep up with the quality of your pics.

I think the world is run by C- students.

That's great Dianne-We've really connected with Bianka and her family and couldn't be happier for her.
