just curious - regards the Serenidad's

kitchen fire.

has it been rebuilt yet? up and running? i know they shut down for Sept every year and the F&B staff takes their vaca - maybe that's when they are doing most of the renovations?

i see they are having a $49. room special. that's not a bad deal for AC and a pool.

They had a functioning kitchen up and running within days of the fire. We stayed there in early July and had dinner and breakfast out by the pool. The $49 special rate applied, at that time only to the few rooms that were on the main parking lot, and filled up quickly.

While we were at the Serenidad, during the BPP fising tourney, I walked back into the kitchen to inspect the damage. They already had new ceiling and roof...at least from the inside...all looked back to normal, and service was prompt. The hotel was very busy that hot weekend, lots of Mexican tourists who drive down from the big city.
