Wait for fishing after a storm?
Going to La Paz tomorrow. How long does it take for fishing to return to La Paz after a storm like Jimena?

As soon as the water settles down. The fishing should be fantastic. Big storms churn things up and relocate reef fish from deep-water hang outs. The pelagics ride the storm to where ever it takes 'em. The problem is getting fuel,
ice, etc.

which is why we fueled up all our extra jugs, tanks and coolers with ice and beer...the fishing is gonna rock!

a man and his son drove like mad to get here yesterday before the storm hit to cash in on the aftermath fishing...woo hoo...just slept outside...too
windy for the tent and hot....they are troopers! and brought me one of those skookum floor squeegies Ros was mentioning and a bunch of lures...woo hoo

Dorado fishing is usually very good the first week after a storm. The rains wash out tree trunks and other large objects which later become areas the
fish frequent. Just look for anything large floating about and chances are excellent there'll be dorado.
In effect it concentrates the fish and gives you a clue as to where they are at the same time. Good luck.

hey skipjack, thanks for the tip...maybe when our palapa spins off out to sea, we will find it with a prize dorado under it...that will be a cool
fishing report!...maybe we should attach a gps tracking device to it before she blows!!
skookum or even more skookum is something skookum chuck...means something pretty awesome...stout...able to withstand a storm at sea type of
thing...its' a nautical term and maybe canadian or british???

The word skookum has three meanings:
1. a word in regional English that has a variety of positive connotations;
2. a monster; similar to the sasquatch
