San Ignacio
The church bells rang when the power came on, we are some of the luckey ones. The road into town should be open by tomorrow. People in the rivers path
were hit hard but help is coming. One of the ranchers was heartbroken as his prized race horses were tied to a tree and he lost them, he said he
didn´t think the water would come up that high. They say this was the 50 year flood. At the B&B Gary´s dog woke him up barking and then he heard
the water coming over the wall and made his way to the top of his pickup just in time. No life´s were lost that we know of and that we are thankful
for.
We all want a peaceful world, filled with love and laughter, but we fill ourselves with anger and hate trying to fiqure out how to achive it.

Thank you Bajame for the update. We've really worried about Gary and are happy that he is safe. We are so sorry for everyone's loss in San Ignacio.
Please let Gary know that Jerry and Marie's thoughts are with him and Terry. What is needed there and in the village? If they need us to come down and
help in any way, we'll be there.

For people out of the loop... 'Gary', 'Terry' and the 'B&B' being discussed is 'Ignacio Springs' Bed & Breakfast (The Yurts).
Very sad for the misery that this disaster brings upon the good people of Baja!

Hola, Bajame,
Your update is most appreciated. Gary & Terry, phone lines have not been working, and I was unable to find out about San Ignacio.
My tears are with the rancher who lost his horses.
Three years ago, Gary had built a long and two foot tall rock wall near the Ignacio B&B to prevent futher flooding, but it looks as the wall was
not tall enough.
I'll try calling at a later time.

Bajame, thank you for the news from San Ignacio, I'm glad to hear that you're OK there. Have you heard how people are faring up in the mountains--
San Francisco and the ranches nearby?
It sounds as though Terry and Gary were hit hard. Sad about the rancher's horses, and I know there were other losses that were difficult for people
nearby. I hope Jane is doing OK, and that Cassa Leree is weathering it all, and you in your home too.
I hope we can all have those lovely margaritas soon outside at the restaurant by the mission!

Juanita was the first person I got through to after the storm in san ignacio and I think it is useful to mention that the reason her phone worked was
because it was an old phone that didnt need electricity. I keep one of those around too for power failures and might be something to have in your
closet for emergencies.
Juanita provided a very full, useful report and I appreciate her calm, methodical manner...thanks juanita.
my hearfelt sorrow goes out to those folks who lost so much or suffered damage...animo amigos!

So sorry to hear of the damage to Ignacio Springs. Garry and Terry deserve so much better luck. Our thoughts are with them as they deal with the
aftermath
