I got ready before Jimena and have not taken anything down, just securing young trees.

I just asked a similar question in another thread, so forgive me if it seems like I am spamming the board. Probably I'm just showing symptoms of nervous anxiety :o

My big $1000 question is: how long will a storm like this keep things out of sorts? La Paz weather forecasts actually show pretty low winds right up to Wednesday, after which they forecast that it will really open up and blow 30 - 40 m.p.h.

But the forecast only goes to Friday. Would you tend to expect it to fizzle out and return to normal wind patterns by Sunday, Monday? A whole week after it started blowing up?

I'm still wondering if the hurricane could render a whole week of my two-week vacation unfishable . . . and I suppose a lot of the dirt roads will become unpassable too, depending on the precipitation.

slight wind from the North. Still hot and humid for middle October but not too bad.......... best it would be it keeps west out in the ocean but doubt it will since October statistic always bring hurricane to turn east. Mazatlan maybe? Better be prepared in the Southern Baja tip anyway.

Let's hope the GFDL computer prediction, usually the most accurate, is wrong this time.

Double farts. Some family & friends and I are supposed to fly into San Jose Del Cabo mid-day Wednesday for a fishing tournament in East Cape. Looks dicey at best.

Beyond that, my fingers are crossed for the locals - there's been enough Chubasco abuse in Baja already in 2009, you guys deserve a break.

If the current path holds true they will probably cancel your flight.

A majority of the models have Rick coming over the southern Baja.

Sorry everyone, but we won't be posting on Rick. I have to fly up to the US today for a medical emergency involving my daughter. Good luck to you all - buckle down and hang in there. My thoughts will be with all of you - I pray this bad boy heads West but it doesn't look very promising.

LOL - Yep she's tied down and staying that way! Now I just gotta make sure the workers put all the outside furniture away and not decide on their own that "it won't hit here". I'll keep an eye out here and eebmike while stateside. I'm sure the hospital has wi-fi (at least I HOPE so).
