Fishing still HOT in Asuncion.

The fish are moving around but everyone is enjoying catching their limits of 20-40 lb yellowfin tuna and yellowtail. The bigger fish have been north of San Pablo...there was a big swell yesterday but calming down today...even a bit of fog this morning...purple rapallas still hot and irons for jigging. Juan sure could use a day off and our wonderful new guide Miguel Angel is getting lots of experience...now if he could only learn how to pose better....fish right side up and cigarette out!!! He's been awesome with the clients and got on lots of nice fish.
Juan is loving his new 4 stroke engine!

How many hoops did you have to jump through to get a new employee?

Glad to hear things are going well, Shari. I think the emergence of a healthy sport fishing fleet in Asuncion will positively impact the village. Enjoy the catching!

With traits/skills like the ones you name, shari, I wouldn't worry a bit about how he poses. It's a big ol' fishie head down or up... and Miguel Angel (apparently appropriately named) sounds like a delightful and safe guide for newbies to fishing (like me), as well as to those with a lifetime of experience. Kudos on the new employee.... and the 4 stroke engine.

thanks Nena...today Michealangelo as the gringos call him...took out El Pirata from Chivato who is well known as a top notch fisherman and he gave MA a glowing report...said he was one of the best gaffers he'd seen!!! woo hoo

They limited out in a couple hours on tuna, yellowtail and sand bass around San Pablo...happy campers!
