Mulege area trip photos post Hurricane Jimena

If you're interested in seeing photos of the trip we made recently to the Mulege area, with an emphasis on the effects of Hurricane Jimena on the desert and plants, then go to:

Debra, I am awestruck by every single one of your photos. Just fabulous. How wonderful to have your intimate knowledge of flora and fauna. I just look out and say, "Pretty", or "Wow!"

Absolutely gorgeous pictures !

Words alone would not have done it justice . Especially like the view across the Bahia to the tip of Concepcion- I thought i'd seen green, but nothing like this.

Thanks for sharing from those of us who are missing it.

Thanks to all you nomads for the generous comments about my photos. It was very difficult to decide which photos to show from the approx. 1000 photos from the trip. Hard to keep the finger off the shutter release (in multi-photo mode), and I just kept saying "wow, wow..." at all the wonderful greenery as I shot away!

I'm glad that there is appreciation for the plant identification. I've been seriously studying/researching BCS plants since after Hurricane Julieta in 2001 and I am always happy to share my growing knowledge of Baja's plants.

If I have time before we return to BC, I'll look for others to post.

Hola Mulegena:

Still working diligently on my BCS plant guide book. This trip allowed me to get a few more plant photos that I was lacking as well as to do a bit more specimen collecting in the area.

I do currently have a photo CD of 89 Mulege area plants (many also found throughout BC) that I am selling. Anyone interested can U2U me about it.

OK, so I did find a few more photos and have created a new page, a mixture of stuff.

Also, if you want more of plant names in Spanish or have friends who only read Spanish, all these pages now have a Spanish version. I also had to make a few corrections and fix a few missing links.

New page:

Hold on to your hats. I've created a new page of photos showing the difference in a number of areas from around El Volcan las Tres Virgenes to Mulege between our first trip in Sep-Oct and now (Nov-Dec). Enjoy!

http://www.lasecomujeres.org/plants/hurricanes_plants01.html

Debra

P.S. I'm copying my Sep-Oct photos to my mp3 player so I can take it with me into the field in order to better duplicate more photos as we continue scoping out the countryside. This is really fun, and enlightening.
