Treefrogs

Treefrogs in the Sierra de San Francisco

At one spot, the frogs were sleeping in indentations in the rocks:

Hey, I recognize that guy!! Hasn't changed much since I married him 30 years ago. Nice photos, Don. The tree frogs serenaded us every night and during the day we had fun finding them huddled in every knick of every rock.

Pacific Tree Frogs are a great way to make broccoli taste good.

With apologies to the squeemish.

Back in the seventies when a lot of us looked like knomes and were living the Mother Earth life in Siskiyou County friends threw a big dinner at their cabin one night. The next day my hostess, thinking she could freak me out, asked how I'd liked the broccoli. It seems that she'd just pulled her vegetable steamer, with it's removable rack inside, out of the cabinet and added water. While washing dishes, out came the rack to reveal a number of well done froggies.

Their idea of a safe haven had been in error.

I've shared a lot of different living spaces with them. Really cute. Tasty too.
