Good deal on a mid-level fly rod

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard...

Cabela's is having a good sale Scierra fly rods. I have a 5 weight I have used a fair amount for a couple of years. You can maybe get these for $100 if you really look, but $49 is a steal. These are good journeyman-level rods, not for highly techie casters.

Never cast a Scierra rod. Are they any good?

We've been buying Temple Fork Outfitter rods recently and are very happy with them (price and performance).

Sounds perfect for a back-up rod on my next trip.

I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

SJ: Your Temple Forks, IMHO, are good rods - I have the Lefty Kreh Professional 7 weight and it's my favorite rod and most expensive @ $150 or so; you can see I don't buy $600 fly rods, they'd be lost on me anywho. I think the Scierra is made to compete with TF as they are priced in the same range but do not have famous names in their marketing. I promise you that at $49 it's a good deal.
