Casa Insurance

Dodged hurricane bullet this year. Is it possible to buy insurance coverage against hurricane damage if casa is oceanfront? Is it expensive? worth it? Or are there huge exclusions to make it not worth it?

If so, anyone have a recommendation on ins agent/company? Casa located 50 minutes from Cabo on pacific side.

I hadn't purchased home insurance because I didn't think it would cover hurricane damage, but after reading some folks in Mulege getting reimbursed for damage I'm thinking it is possible.

Thanks,
pacside

is it worth it?

divide the number of years you plan to live there by the cost to duplicate what you are insuring equals your answer.

i know i'm not being helpful! we're getting ready for the OB Christmas Parade and the NOG is being spiked with tequila....

woody,

i guess i'm asking whether coverage exists and if so, a recommendation of ins agent/company. of course, it is worth it imo unless there are glaring exceptions.

I'm just signing up through/with Elena Bretts (ph. 646 178 5715 ~ fax 178 4364 or E-mail elenabretts@yahoo.com) She has been extremely responsive and the policy price is reasonable. I found an issue concerning distance from the water and E-mailed here on Saturday about it. By Saturday afternoon she responded that she contacted the insurance company to make the changes. So I highly recommend giving her a call.
