Snook
Hooked the first snook I'd ever seen yesterday and lost it at the kayak. Figured I'd never see another one....till this morning! 16 pounds.

Nice robalo! Congratulations and good job from the kayak.
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

South of Los Frailes about 40 feet from shore. Trolling a Rapala kind of thing. It pulled pretty hard for 5 minutes but I had my Pargo/tuna winch on.
I'm going to use something smaller tomorrow...that's when I usually get the Pargo, never fails. The fish cleaning table was my first concrete try!
Ugly but sure works better than being hunched over an ice chest! Custom drain into a 5 gallon bucket!

'Tis the season of the robalo. Here is a photo of East Cape resident Ken Alexander with one of several caught fishing north in the estero a couple of
weeks ago with Lopez Mateos Captain Ruben Duran. Ruben is back at the scene of the crime today looking for more.

Ken.......I know that they were baiting with live shrimp and using light tackle, but don't know exactly what.

That's a sweet one! A girl caught one off the beach here last year about that size, maybe a little bigger. I've been skunked the last two days. Guess
they aren't here all the time!

Sweet, haven't caught one of those since I was a kid fishing with my uncle (Whose nickname was "Fish") in the channel between Sanibel and Captiva
islands off Ft. Myers FL. Never got one that big but the ones we did get were spectacular fighters making beautiful leaps.
On the same trip, my uncle landed a six foot gator! He hooked a ladyfish, the gator glommed onto it and wouldn't let go. So uncle Fish played him
onto the beach with 20# line.
All my childhood I wanted to be older. Now I\'m older and this chitn sucks.
