BOLA Bobcat???
We were heading south out of BOLA and came across this little guy lying in the road. He was looking intently at something off to the right. He didn't
even hear us as we drove up near him. Only when I opened my door to get out and get a better picture did he take off.

Nice wildlife photo, Pacifico.
You were fortunate to get so close to a wild creature like the Baja bobcat.
Here's a close-up of another at Punta Chivato many years ago. These were raised from cubs and a little bit easier to photograph.

Roger,
I admired that cat or his relatives, many times at the Hotel myself. I remember those being called Manx cats, and wanted to take one home.
Thanks for bringing back memories of that place!

Hi Ken, not Manx but a cross between them and native bobcats. A friend of Bill Alvarado created the hybrid.
These would have had Manx cats for lunch! The one I am holding is little more than a kitten... 
Feeding times were a little...exciting to say the least. Live rabbits or chickens. Kind of like olden Gladiator times!

Roger, how in the world do you locate a photo that is relevant to any thread? You must have a zillion photos to search through. Unbelievable!

Pacifico,
We've seen large cats in Bahia many times. The closest I've ever been to one was at a rancho up near San Borja. They had the cat skinned and in their
kitchen sink. The paws on that cat were huge. It's fur coat was beautiful.

Pacifico's photo location looks about like the same area we came across a healthy red diamondback rattlesnake crossing the road... April, 2003. This
was the same trip we found 'Inky' the dog on our way to Mision Santa Maria... Some of you may recall the story on Amigos de Baja or Discover Baja's

I saw that bobcat several times last summer at Camp Gecko, he doesn't seem at all worried about humans.......just strolled along in front of my place
like nothing.
Soulpatch, he was also hanging out under you trailer and the one behind you, so be sure to check it out before you turn the kids loose. I took alot
of pictures of him, but, my camera was stolen while in Hawaii so I can't share

On our first trip from the end of Bahia Conception over to San Sebastian we saw both a beautiful Bobcat and a healthy looking Venado. A rare treat
