JAN. 2010 Gasoline Prices
Yesterday I topped the tank at San Felipe and Mexicali and recorded the numbers... Yes, the border zone is still at a higher price. The normal
exchange rate was about 12.60 pesos per dollar, used here:
MAGNA: 7.57 pesos/liter (US$2.27/ gallon*)
PREMIUM: 8.27 pesos/liter (US$2.48/ gallon)
BORDER AREA:
MAGNA: 7.88 pesos/liter (US$2.37/ gallon*)
PREMIUM: 9.66 pesos/ liter (US$2.90/ gallon)
* I used dollars at the station and my actual cost per gallon was $2.46 at San Felipe and $2.33 at Mexicali... Gas was cheaper on the pump at San
Felipe, but the exchange rate wasn't as good as Mexicali.
Sorry diesel Nomads, I didn't get the diesel price.

Yup, if you find it less than $3/ gallon in San Diego County, then that's good! I topped off at Costco, Vista today... $2.89 I think.
The new truck (less than 2,000 miles on the odo) is getting 16-18 highway and 15 around town. As soon as it is 'broken in', I expect it to go up 1-2
more mpg.

Woohoo, that's about $0.65 a liter CDN for Magna. We pay about $1.02 here right now in Vancouver BC.
Thanks for the update David!

Thanks for the update David! | That's only if the pump is accurate. The pumps at our local Pemex here in
Pescadero put 24.35 liters in a 19 liter jug and the Pemex right in town in Todos Santos are about the same. The one north of Todos can only get in
about 21 liters.

Right... and your cost will be higher. But all we can do is post what the pump says and hope!
The stations will all take dollars as well, but they have exchange rates that may not be as favorable as the current bank rate.
