Punta Colonet goes back to the drawing boards

Therefore the SCT announced that is currently working with companies, port operators and large users of this port to jointly redesign the bid that
will make this project viable.
The agency said that the redesign does not mean a reduction in the amount of investment for the port located in the municipality of Ensenada, which
amounts about $5 billion dollars, since instead of one large project there will be several small.

Looks like Mexico is finally facing up to the reality of Punta Colonet. In my opinion this project is already dead, but it is too much a political hot
potato to admit that.

It IS really looking as you say. I recently read a report about how LA-Long Beach is scrambling to try and hold on to its historic percentage of
business as ports in Western Canada and the US gulf coast have expanded. Colonet would really have to pull a rabbit out of its hat to develop much
traffic. Not to mention how many economists say that it will be a long, long time, if ever for the US to return to the pre-recession levels of
consumption.
