WARNING!! more fish pictures from Asuncion!

Juan did a buddy fishing trip to get some fish to take to his family in GN...so he, Juan Carlos, Kevin and David set out on this mission even though it was somewhat cloudy. They braved the cold and squalls but brought home the booty!

They got into some nice whitefish which makes delicious fillets, lots of nice bonita, calico and yellowtail...limited out and had a great guy day to boot!
Let them eat FISH!

We LOVE bonita here...makes a fabulous "tuna salad" for sandwiches or on crackers. I just boil the filets, squeeze the water out and make it with onions, celery, tomato chopped fine, pickles and mayo and rock and roll! Also is great for fish machaca type burritos...with little cubed potatoes and veggies.

I don't think BA EVER turns off!

And during El Niņo years it gets even better. Right Shari?

seems that way Udo....we had an epic fishing season in the fall catching more species that were rare for here...wahoo, dorado and even a marlin!! The coops are worried about En Niņo conditions this year because it can wreak havoc on the abalone production in our area. So the plan is to start ab season very early this year....as soon as lobster finishes at the end of february...so Juan better hurry up and get the rock arches on the patio done...maybe I'll go wake him up right now!!! crack the whip...no more fun fishing for you my man...back to the rock pile!

bajacat...woo hoo....that would be awesome! We can show you some killer trails to get stuck on! Most likely yellowtail will be gone but ya never know...still lots of calico etc...plus abalone season will be happening.
I took some of your advice and allowed Juan to set out this morning with su tio Javier, david and juan carlos and a cooler full of Tecate in search of some big yellowtail...sashimi for lunch anyone?

Just like the other can with the "Puss 'n Boots" label. Bonita is only fit for human consumption when smoked. :fire:

Place chunks of Bonita in a jar, pint or quart, put a few drops of liquid smoke seasoning, a spoon or two of brown sugar and whatever other seasoning you like in the jar. Follow the directions for canning fish. It's good.
