Crossing March 16 (Tecate or TJ) and heading So.

Would like to try Tecate this time. Doesn't really matter I suppose. If wanting to caravan and you can keep up with the wonder that is the Duramax  shout out. Probably pushing to GN on day-one. La Ventana day two. Early mornings, no night driving. Pretty much all business driving down this time with the slow beach-hopping drive saved for the return.

Going to cross at TJ, as it turns out. I'm not wanted by the authorities. No takers? Its the fear of the mighty Duramax, isn't it. Wife doesn't want to hit La Ventanna, so will end at Conception or Loreto. Heck, even if you just want to caravan through Ensenada, that would be cool.

BAJACAT ~ as much as I would love to say we could do the same, I know better :) We are traveling with two small children and let's just say, we need a break after a while! We will leave either San Diego or Yuma, on the 20th, but we are only going as far as La Fonda for the first leg...the obligatory day at the beach and Sunday Brunch for the kids (yeah, the kids :) ) then we head to El Rosario, then GN for whales and then south from there to destinations yet to be planned :) Lionel wants to make it as far as Todos Santos to look at some property, but he wanted to do that last trip too, and we only got as far as Abreojos. Oh well, that's the best part about Baja vacations...you never know where you'll end up, but it's ALL good!

Safe travels to everyone! Maybe we'll all bump into each other along the way!

Cool!! We just made our reservations at Malarrimo. 8 am March 23! Yippee! Do you mean Shari in Asuncion? Or another Shari? Cause Shari in Asuncion is the best! We are planning to stay a few days in her "Abuela's Casa" in San Roque on the trip back. Stayed there last year and it was awesome!!!

Oh, your kids are quite a bit older :) Ours are 4 and 1 1/2, so we can only do so much long winded road tripping. But they are awesome in the car! Good Luck and have fun!!

(sorry to have kind of high-jacked the thread!)

Sounds like a good possibility. We have to cross back no later than the 27th. Need to visit friends up the east on the 25th. If there's a date that works for everyone, we're game.

Bajacat,

Not clear, but are you still heading all the way to Conception on the 20th or are you stopping for the whales on the way down?

We'll occasionally be on ch 13 if you have an old school CB.

Two kids and a dog here (7/10). The dog is the best behaved out of the bunch.

Oh goodness, no! We will be heading down the 20th at the latest, but Lionel is trying to work out an extra day, which would mean we would be crossing on the 18th...GN on the 22nd...whales on the 23rd...then south for a few days (destination unknown :) ) then back to Asuncion around the 31st and back home by the 7th. Maybe we could do Asuncion after GN...hmmm...that whole part of the trip is still up in the air. But we will be posting on our travel blog @

http://thefamvangurp.blogspot.com

and probably here as well along the way. I know that many of the places we will be staying have internet access. Boy, have times changed, huh?! The first family trip we made we were actually reported to the authorities as missing because no one could get a hold of us!

We would love to meet fellow Nomads IRL. At any rate,

Disfrute del viaje!
