Whale looking like Sea Monster
Love that place and all that is around.
One person in town suggested that we buy a town home since we are there so often. 
Nicest people in San Ignacio and one of the best carne asada taco stand at night on the plaza
And, of course, must have that dog picture --- this one entitled, OK, Throw that Stupid Rock.

Great photos, Diane. Just wondering whether you can live on carne asada tacos for any long period of time. We're headed down there shortly, and I have
to admit that we've never found a restaurant in San Ignacio that I would review on Yelp or Chowhound. While it is acceptable, Rice & Beans is
merely that. So, if you have a tip for an actual good sit down place in town, I'm all ears.

We do not care for Rice and Beans at all and find the other restaurants to be, well better, but not great. We did have GREAT scallops one night at
Rene´s right off the plaza last time we were there, but do not like their breakfast.
Seriously, the best food we have had there is at the taco stand at the end of the plaza opposite the church. But, Augustin only opens at about 6:30
pm mas o menos. I forget the name on his stand, but you cannot miss it. It is white and built on an old Ford truck bed. REALLY very good and be
sure to ask for his salsa picante as he at times thinks gringos would not like it. It is fantastic---a mix with serranos and dried red chiles.

Thanks. As much as I love San Ignacio, It has always confounded me with its lack of a decent restaurant. Didn't mention it before, but perhaps even
the restaurant at the Desert Inn is better than Rice & Beans.

We have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner in the town of San Ignacio, and I can't remember what anything tasted like. I am normally the WOW type when it comes to food. The only food item that wow'd me were the tortillas at the totilleria
about 1-1/2 blocks away from the mission (headed toward the lagoon). When deep fried, the have the corniest flavor of any other tortilla I have eaten
in Baja. The corn flavor is fairly intense, deep fried or not.
If you eat at Desert Inn, try their nachos with guacamole. It really will be an unforgettable culinary experience
