March 23- The day before bajaNomad Kurt, stop by to visit with friend Kathy, we meet and share stories, they already had done the whale trip in Ojo de Liebre, so we look at their pix and made us to want more to do this trip.. I ask him about la trinidad, and he told me that he will give me directions to get to the paintings, he was renting a little house in Mulege. They say their good byes and left.So it's tuesday noon we left to San Javier firts, there is some road construction south of BC,

if you are going to Loreto you always going to see this, I can think what it means? (UFO)...
on the way to the mission you an stop and see the rock art in the arroyo,
sign to San Jose de Comandu, this road is on my to do list..
San Javier mission I will all the history a side for latter maybe DK can elaborated on it. This is my favorite mission ever.
This olive tree ít's in the orchid in back of the mission it's supposse to be as old as the mission or maybe older. We ate at the little restaurant in front of the mission, real good food for a small price plus you help the little towns economy, the electricity will be activated in on month.
side of the mission, now of to Loreto.
THE MOTHER OF ALL MISSIONS
inside the mission, I dont want to get into details all you guys know this mission Im sure...
another shoot of the mission.
We had some sea food in Loreto and then back to BC, when upon arrival I found a little pice of paper with a rock on top, with the directions to La Trinida, compliments of Nomad Kurt, what a nice guy he drove from Mulege to BC to leave me the directions.. Kurt you are welcome to ride with me in the upcoming Santa Maria mission tripin Memorial day...part #3 cooming up later La Trinidad to La Bocana..

Last trip to the mission they were repainting and re-emplastering it was disappointing because some of the clients came from very far away. Do you have any inside photos of San Javier's mission. You have Loreto's interior posted here. I'd like to see how the work came out.

I have a photo I took right after he festival in Dic that I should post was nice,

Pam

Pam,

Here is a shot I took Feb 17, 2010. The pews had not been put back in then, workmen were still around. Nothing was being worked on the day we were there. It looked beautiful.

This Mission is really special, as is the town!
