Fishing licences online?

Hey guys,

Some of you may remember me and my hubby Fred. Hey, does anyone know if you can get fishing licences online, through Vagabundos?

I purchased my curreent annual license through them. Membership is $35 per year. I have always been happy with their service, membership, fishing license and car insurance.

the vagabundos source for fishing licenses is outdated

licenses can be purchased online at

http://www2.ebajacalifornia.gob.mx/Pesca/index.jsp?i=Eua

click on the little american flag for english

no need to pay HUGH fees to join a "club" or
get stamps from different offical offices

Thanks but it's actually our friends who are going. We probably won't head that way until December. Looking forward to it though!

Maybe Robin Wade could chime in here to help us buy licenses when and where we can to funnel the funds to FONMAR so they help the local fishery instead of just going into the Mexican General Treasury in Mexico City where they get often get caught in the other kind of funnel -- the kind where the funds go to other Mexican states and are really a very small trickle instead of a stream of helpful fund.

were they actually able to pay online AND print up their license?

I'd love to know because I messed with their system for so long, even was in contact with Mazatlan and I never got it to work. But now the option to pay into the state's FONMAR fund was made avaiable so I dropped the online deal.

On nomads I read of at least one person claiming they charged his credit card twice and no license. Personally I'd never trust a .gob.mx site with my credit card information.

I can pay for the licenses directly with my bank online 24/7 but that goes into the CONAPESCA fund.

If you're here in BCS I'd recommend buying here, paying with the state so that the $$ can stay here and go into the FONMAR fund. Not that I am at all impressed with FONMARs performance so far, we have a lot better chance of controlling IT than we do CONAPESCA. So my vote is to pay an outfitter that will guarantee that money goes to our state and gets used to protect our resources.

have fun

well... they needed one license for the next morning
and got it about 4pm

here in mulege the nearest place is santa rosalia 50 minutes away
if i was fishing with you for a vacation
i would wait until i got to your office...
you NEVER know what the weather is going to be like

they used the computer, printer and visa card

you really shouldn't worry about overcharges with credit cards
the credit card companies WILL refund overcharges
as soon as you tell them

i'll get mine in june
then i'll report more

Anyone????
Can you actually pay and print the fishing license on the Bueno Pesca linked site above or is the final fishing license mailed to the supplied address? Last time I ordered through Conepesca in San Diego it was mailed.
Thanks

In April, I purchased and paid for my husband and my fishing licenses on the website listed in the quote. I did not have and problems. Our friend used it 2-3 days later and had problems, I think it depends on the day. On the old system I had a problem where the site charged for 5 licenses instead of 3 and then when I emailed the contact us email address they promptly refunded 2 charges on my credit card. I have had good luck dealing with this site and the email responses have been extremely quick. I have had my cc company call me to make sure I was using the card in Mexico, that I guess is a good thing.

Well have a safe journey and happy fishing! Connie

24Baja,
I emailed the site and have not heard back as yet so have not ordered yet.
If I can really log in, sign up and print immediately I can really have the procrastination gene in full swing and do it at the last minute.
Thanks again.....

My experience has been good, however our friend has not had luck using the site....do not procrastinate, unless you can buy the licenses in Baja.
