Old Mill burned down
Don Eddie’s restaurant burned down 3 a.m. this morning. Cause of fire not known. Rooms still available but restaurant & tackle shop gone. Old Mill
restaurant should open again in 2-3 wks. Meanwhile El Jardins is the only restaurant until then.

i think that was a fire trap waiting to happen.
too bad i really liked the architecture.
i would never stay at Don Eddies tho - he gives no courtesy to Lorenzo's guests.

As someone who worked in the commercial property and casualty insurance field for many years, we preferred to merely put quotes around the word
lightning. It allowed the meaning to be discerned, but inasmuch as I was in both New York and LA, it provided a modicum of discretion. And I don't
necessarily disagree.

If it's Don Eddie's that burned down why does the subject line say Old Mill?

What a shame, the architecture of the place was really neat. Will he rebuild?

What a sympathetic response. I'm surprised your not trying to pimp a deal on the land yet.

That is really a shame. I can honestly say that my last meal there (about 3 years ago), was outstanding....lobster special, beer, and tequila
shooters.

The Old Pier (Muelle Viejo) is a ways south of the Old Mill... not the same as Don Eddie's.

HOLA, i've heard for a couple of years they were trying to sell don eddies and saw a listing on the internet. when i was there last year, i stayed at
the old mill and the restaurant at don eddies was only open one of the three days i was there. ARSON FOR PROFIT...IN MEXICO ?
i hope nobody sustained any injuries and will mourn the loss of a very good restaurant. at least over the years, i never got montezuma's revenge !
the other very good restaurant when i believe it was gaston that ran the old mill restaurant and it was very good.
giving the old mill as a reference is a good idea as some of us aren't familiar with some of the names of places in baja proper, especially, ME.
me thinks it'll be harder getting reservations at jardine's now and their very good restaurant. i hear the rooms may be sterile but are very nice, but
alas, very few.
BIEN SALUD, DA RAT

The restaurant at don eddie's has been closed for awhile. When you really live off the tourist and they stop coming and you have things to pay. I did
see he wanted to sell it but who's buying in this economy. Just los pinos. and they have bought up lots of stuff already. At the bay it is just about
only tourist that feed them and the employees. they are pretty far out for lunch and dinners for the locals to live off of . Lost of restaurants not
enough people for all the restaurant in this valley.
Sorry for all that put people out of work. And if you don't have money to pay them what is due. Like any vacations, profits, christmas bonuses, and
time due for severance. They could have the right to the property to get what is owed to them
Good Luck Don Eddie
Hope you were insureds

I took Mrs. Dra. Bajabass there the first night I met her. She did not speak a word of English at the time, and my Spanglish was BAD! We had a fair
meal, and a very nice walk around after. Her heel got stuck between the boards of the dilapidated dock. I being the perfect gentleman, kneeled, and
gently removed it for her, and worked it free from between the boards. Hooked Her!!! Always wanted to take her back again. Guess we will now have to
re-live our second date, at La Fonda. Oh well, much closer to home in La Mision.
