Is there a good camping beach in EastCape?
Hello everyone,
Last year I was looking for a new beach other than Punta Chivato. I ended up going to Punta Basillia and it was great. It was almost too remote
since we would go for days wihtout seeing anyone other than sail boats. Now we are thinking of pushing all of the way to the east cape.
I am looking for:
- Not too crowded or comercial. I do not mind other campers but I am looking for something like a deserted beach.
- sandy beach
- Launch and moor my 15' inflatable
- accesible by 4WD towing a 20' trailer
- fishing from my boat
- surfing??
I went to a place down there 20 years ago that was glorious. Let me see if I can find a picture and post it. If so I wonder if it is still there??
Thanks in advance you guys were great for me last year.
Especially Russ in Punta Chivato.

You might try the area between La playita (just outside of san jose del cabo) heading north towards cabo pulma. There are areas along the beach I've
seen people camp as well as surfing. Once your past cabo pulma it gets more populated heading into La Ribera, Buena vista, and finally
LosBarriles. It's a beautiful area and I'm sure you'd find a place to set up camp.

Well I would say that it is Cabo Pulmo, Since the Pickup Camper with Inflatable behind looks like ours at the time. Its all a Marine Park now, You can go
down that road about 5 miles and that will be frailes. You can camp and launch your boat there over the beach.

Amigo, Estaban, All the old pristine camping beaches are gone. Not! Between Cabo Pulomo there's hotels stacked up forever! Blanket vendors. Not!!
Come on down & explore. We thank Our Lord for those Sacred Places that are off the maps. Not!! Even Los Barriles is stilla small, cool town!
Camp at Second Beach. And don't even think of visiting the Otro Cabo, the West Side! Cerritos' Todos are a Zoo ! Not!! The Baja still offers
Outrageous Experiences! Que te buscas! Suerte, Amigo !

So, being a marine park can I still camp on the beach right there? Too funny to show a picture of 20 years ago at Christmas time and have someone
say, "hey, that's me!" Actually I think it was Dec 20-22 1990.
Is it easiest to get to from the north or south?
Thanks for the info, this is a great resource.

In Los Frailes you can camp in the arroyo west of the main road or in the trees at the north end of the beach, however if you camp more than a night
or two on the beach the Park Warden will probably ask you to move up the arroyo.
Farther south in Arroyo Brazil or Arroyo Salado you can camp on the beach but beach launching can be tricky if the surf picks up.

If your coming from the north (la paz) go past Los Barriles take the turn off to La Ribera, go thru town then right when you get to the sea. You can
then follow to Cabo Pulmo.

Beautiful mananita here in Pescadero! It's been a little windy but spring is our cool time of the year. Camping open at the Old Pedrito Trailer Park
and south of Cerritos south of the condos. Yes, condos! Our only Cabo style development. Don't leave anything laying around or the locals will
consider it a contribuicion! Be careful of road construction!! Tio

That looks so much like my truck and camper parked backwards right in the spot we stayed at during the Christmas holidays of 93. How often we would
sit on the porch of that stone house waiting for the air to cool down. On windy days I would hike up to road to the saddleback of that hill on the
right. Good birdwatching and such a view.
The first time we came to your spot was in 83 and it didn't really change much in 10 years. But 10 years after that it was inaccessible.
Thanks for the memories.

Coupla questions about Cabo Pulmo since the last time I was there was'85:
Do the hippie types still run naked on the beach?
Also, one of the memorable meals I've has was at Tito's, is he still there, dirt floor and all?

I doubt it, and just wonder if the green turtle bus still goes there.

Tito's is still their and reopened recently with Eddie and Elizabeth. New roof and concrete floor with a large addition for buffets. Food reports
are up and down. The beach is fenced off and they charge for camping -- no naked hippies recently. I haven't seen the Green Tortuga for a few
years?? 5 or more years?

I was wondering about the realestate over by the cerritos surf beach. I like to surf and it is gorgous there.
Is there a agent that takes care of this area?
I was motorcycling through that area a year ago and stayed with a guy (Eric) that was trying to make it with a palapa and 4-5 rooms for rent. He had
a nice view but his place was a pig sty and he was broke. We camped in his yard for $15.

| Don't worry, there's no shortage of real estate agents in Todos Santos who will trip all over themselves
for the opportunity to show you property in the Los Cerritos area. Just don't be a rube and fall for the spiel on the Los Cerritos Surf Colony.
