Week in San Roque....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

While Juan is fishing for abalone, we moved out to the beach cabin in San Roque. This is full on RELAXATION in the true baja style...no power, running water, internet...just pure and simple living at the beach. Everyone got to do what they like to do best this week. Read, hike, lay in the hammock...I love watching the pangas unload their catch at the cove...all the fishermen are gone by 10:00 and we have the beach to ourselves...peace and quiet.

Our youngest kitty got to learn about trees.

Shami found a cool bone on one of our arroyo hikes.

Cafe jumps for joy at the beach.

I got to make jewellery...here is my little workshop. Notice the "what's wrong with this picture" item?? the semi in the background. Calamar fishermen were working out of here the last month as apparently giant squid were around here...luckily they have moved further south now to La Bocana so hopefully the not so pretty semi will be gone next week...it was nice to get a cooler full of ice from them though!

and of course...our ever so popular San Roque BBQ's...anyone around is invited to these mellow afternoons of good food, views, tecate and amigos...(sure missed nancy and her accordian though) here is zoe enjoying the view from the hamock after dinner.

salud amigos!!

Ah yes, the hammock. It was Alex's favorite hangout once the afternoon winds came up. The wall together with the house provided a perfect shelter. There was always contention to see who would get the hammock.

Audrey and I spent an entire day hanging out along the shores of San Roque when we visited you guys a couple of years ago. We really enjoyed relaxing there - pulled the cabover camper right along the shore - it was fantastic.

Shami was just a puppy then!

Thanks for the pics Sheri.

When we went to Asuncion for a couple of days in '07, Shari took us to San Roque while Juan had a charter... While she visited with her guests at the beach cabin, we checked out the 'Haunted Church'...

Juan and his client arrived at San Roque to unload their catch...
