green sticker bike on street OK ?
Previous during the Score off road races, I've seen guys riding around town on off-road bikes. Is this only acceptable during these crazy race events,
or can I bring my dirt bike down there when I'm on vacation and get away with riding around small towns ? I'm not planning to use in in big towns or
busy streets. What can I get away with ?

The sticker has no meaning in MX. Technically you need a plate. That being said you can usually get away with riding around town on dirtbikes. I see
quads doing it too. I have never heard of anyone getting harrassed about it.

Keep your speed low (dont kick up dust). No wheelies, wave/nod at everybody (men only), spend money in the shops, respect, respect, respect and no
problemo
I dont know the actual legality, but in most small towns, these guidelines work
No worries

Most of them are nasty little scoflaws who get off on tearing up the town. They wouldn't be drinking at Sharky's unless they broke into the place
after it closed.

Now, now, now, Dennis....some dirtbikers are old farts with a conscience
My experience w/dirtbikes in Baja over past 10 years (6 trips) is that cities may want you to have a license, but only hassle was on East Cape road
out of San Jose del Cabo....police gave $50 ticket/mordida to bike w/ no license....and in La Paz a cop wagged his finger at me for no helmet, but
nothing more.
I agree that sensible operation will not attract attention.
Out back, military just wants to know where are you from/going, how fast can you go, how much did the bike cost, and can you wheelie....
Now, those old farts on quads are the terrorists
Don't believe everything you think....

I'm sure they are, ged. That isn't the case with these vandals. The roadsides are dirt through Cantú. It's where people park in front of businesses
and where pedestrians walk. Unfortunatly, it's also where these kids on dirt bikes choose to go full speed and create huge dust clowds while
endangering everybody around them.
I know you wouldn't like it.

You are right.....whether such inconsiderate behaviour is caused by motorcycles, quads, cars, or trucks.

As stated before keep your speed down and be respectful. Make sure you wear a helmet and no double riding, especially on quads.
