Blvd 2000 to Tecate

I was down in La Mision over the weekend and decided to take Blvd 2000 to the Tecate crossing on the drive back (The wife does not have SENTRI yet and we heard TJ had a HUGE wait). The road was great and it was a nice drive through the countryside. I was surprised at how expensive the toll road to Tecate was though....$5.75. In the end it all worked out...the wait at Tecate was only an hour and we enjoyed some beef tamales while in line.

Sunday is always a tough day, unless you want to be at the border at first light....

I never take the toll road

The free road is shorter, has been widened and with the exception of the last couple miles into town is 4 lane all the way. The toll road is a rip-off.

It`s four lanes all the way to town now! Yep, shorter, faster, and free!
