Help needed in getting a deaf BCS girl a student VISA
Does anyone have special contacts or experience with getting a Mexican young adult (19) a student visa to come to the US to visit?
Marisol Higuera [www.marisolhiguera.com], born deaf mute at a remote Pacific fish camp, will be graduating secundaria (9th grade) from Rancho Sordo
Mudo later this year. We would like to help her get a high school education, but there are no high schools for deaf children on the peninsula. We are
happy to help her continue her education in the U.S., but thus far have been stumped on the student visa issues.
Marisol's mother died recently (kidney failure, probably caused from drinking contaminated water they haul from Rio La Purisima); and now her
remaining family consists only of her father and brother, both fishermen with no resources. Their palapa blew down in the last hurricane and the men
are simply camping as best they can manage.
Can anyone assist with contacts to help us get her a student visa?

Is that the Rancho outside of Ensenada? My friends twin son's went there and one became a Dr. He did not go to the States. I will see If I can ask her
were he went. She did not have money I know as her husband died when the boys were about 7 years old. So there must be some place to go
here in Mexico.

Yes, Rancho Sordo Mudo is located in the Guadalupe Valley between Ensenada and Tecate. The school ends at secundaria = 9th grade. We have been unable
to find a high school for the deaf in Mexico so Marisol can continue her education. We look forward to the information about the continuing education
your friend's child received! Great news. (It was our understanding that only one RSM student, Omar, had an opportunity to go on to college.) Love to
know the story behind the case you mention!
