Composite decking

Has anyone brought composite decking material such as TREX into Mexico?????

Any problems with Mexican Customs???? Do they treat the composite the same as lumber????

It was a different world 4 or 5 years ago. They'll get you on the duty and that stuff is expensive.

My recent experinces with trying to bring in lumber leads me to believe that I don't think they will allow it in at all; even trying to pay duty. The last few times at SY I have been told the same thing: only 10 pieces of new lumber, no used lumber, 'some' plywood is 'OK'. FWIW Of course, it's not really lumber.

Bajaguy... now you have an answer to your question....:lol: saw a guy that used it ... a very good job.. had access to a welder ... fabricated the supports (cantilevered over a cliff/ocean) and had them "power coated" then used the Trex ... came out nice.. and does well against the "ocean" at least thus far.. a few years would guess 3-7

One does get what they pay for.. have no idea how much this project cost.. but the finished product appears to be giving the individual everything planned and designed for... thus far
