SOUVENIR VENDOR'S PRICES ?

Most of us that travel Baja frequent souvenir shops regularly (as well as liquor stores).
When we visit the shops, we invariably see something we can't live without. HOWEVER, the shops hardly ever price an item and you have to ask for the price. The clerk then picks up the item in questiion and looks at the bottom where there is a label with some letters on it or some other code. I am assuming that this is their cost.:O
Then the clerk blurts out the price, and then one begins the negotiation process.:no:
Has any Nomads ever figured out what the price code is on the marked items:?:

The prices differ on the authentic Mexican curios depending on what part of China they're made in. :biggrin:

Thank you, DENNIS!

Even here in the U.S. the Latino markets are also selling Mexican curios and tableware made in China. Won't be long before they start manufacturing the cast aluminun lime squeezers used all over Mexico/

Lots of different vendor codes out there. All you need is a 10 letter word or phrase that doesn't have duplicate letters.

IE,

BLACK HORSE
1234567890
AKO = $3.57

You just need to figure out the Spanish phrase :lol:

I have a spoon rest I picked up at Ross Dress 4 Less. On the bottom it says "Talavera" and under that "made in China"....go figure.
