Water Pump
Hello all,
I am happily at the point of installing a water pump to pressurize the very low pressure available from the the street here in BCS. Can anyone
recommend me a good one they may have had positive experience with? I would really like to go with a submersible one to sink in the 5000 litre tinako
as they dont seem to make much noise. My not so good plumber is recommending a brand called Star Right. Any first hand advice out there?
Thank you!!

I saw Grundfos inline booster pumps at Home Depot in Cabo right next to the on demand water heaters. I've never seen a submersible pump used that way
but can't see why it wouldn't work.

All of the submersible pumps that I have worked with have the motor on the bottom, with the intake above the motor, I am not sure if the pumps can be
laid on their side effectively to capture a majority of the water in the tank. You may not even need to access the bottom 12-20 inches of water in
the tank, maybe something to think about and I am sure there will be many more opinions coming. JH

all you need is what kate has...
if you put a pump in the water like the Grundfos
then you'll just have problems later
think simple...

The Grundfos pumps I saw at HD were similar to that.

Whatever pump you decide on, be sure to install a "SAFETY" pressure switch.
My next door neighbor is a perfect example of their necessity. Two nights ago, he, again, left his water running to water a small tree while he went
into the house to consume a couple of gallons of wine.
The pila was emptied on that tree and the water ran through mu french drains to the street. Lots of water.
When the pila was emptied, his pump continued for only a short time and turned itself off...."safety switch."
A few months back, he did the same thing with only a regular 20/40 switch....the pump continued to run and melted all of the PVC pipes connected to
it.
Anyway...."Safety Switch."
