USA Advances in World Cup

Donovan kicks in a rebound for winning goal at the very end of game, right after a sensational save by Howard at the other end of field. Very exciting game!

Super Soccer Shazam

The Sun is Brighter, the Air Clearer, the Birds singing a Sweeter Tune, Fellowship and Good Cheer abound in the Streets. All is right in America today.

One Cable Newscaster summed up my feelings exactly and she indicated that her opinion was expressed with the Same Sincerity that I have.

"America is a better place and the tingling excitement I feel is impossible to describe". AND, her co-host responded that "It's ALWAYS a Special day when America prevails over Algeria".

Forget BP and the Gulf. Forget Afghanistan and McChrystal. Forget the Deficit and Climate Change. It is all trivial. Algeria has been vanquished by conquering heroes from the World's Shining Light. Victory in Soccer presages victory in all things vital to our Glory.

I'm SO Happy.

Thrilling game and a what a dramatic finish. One for the ages!

USA avoid elimination at the last and finish top of their group. And they deserve it...

Millions of football fans around the world will have admired that performance...

Looking forward to the next game on Saturday.

Of course part of the suspense and drama of that game was seeing that England was "one-up" in their match. It was a do or die situation. Tie and go home.... score a goal and advance.

Good luck against Germany! They look vulnerable.

Celebrating and Honoring the Home of the Soccering

Present Home, that is.

To HONOR South Africa, a restaurant in Mesa (Arizona) is offering LION Burgers harvested from domestically-raised Free-Range Lions ! And doing quite well. Yum-Yum.

Of course, they're being picketed by "Animal-Rights" activists, but they'd be picketing if it were Rat Burgers.

Speaking of Soccer (Play):

This next round for the U.S. is going to be Tough. To be PC, that is.

After all, should the Mighty Americans (representing all of the excesses of the modern world) subjugate lowly Ghana and further deflate the self-esteem of the downtrodden African Peoples ? Isn't there a Racist Tint to cheering for the U.S. ? Do WE want to be Arizonans, so to speak ?

Decisions, Decisions.

Thanks Jodiego,

Really enjoyed that. Good to know I wasn't the only one caught up in the moment.

Quite a soccer weekend coming up. USA v Ghana on Saturday. And Mexico on Sunday.

Both have very tough games. Ghana has some excellent players, playing for top European teams.

Knock out stage now. No ties, got to win or lose.

I really do not prefer Mexico's style of play....flop and cheap fouls...then blame everyone else when they lose. I only wish it was the US booting El Tri out of the World Cup...especially since the US owns EL Tri.

Ghana beats USA, 2 to 1 in overtime. Hard played game but the USA just couldn't take advantage of its opportunities. Congratulations to the Ghana team.

So now I still have Mexico and Argentina to root for...

Well, that's it....after Afghanistan, we go to Ghana. That's twice they've sent our team packin' from the World Cup and there's only one way left to level the playing field. We have to level their country.
Bombs Away.
