New Highway from Mex 2 to Mex 3

A new highway from Mex 2 to Mex 3 is almost open. It runs from about 7-8 miles west of Tecate on Mex 2 south to Valle de Las Palmas on Mex 3. It's 2 lanes in both directions at the Mex 2 end. I'm thinking this is mainly for the truckers to bypass Tecate in/out of Tijuana to Ensenada. I may have missed an earlier thread about this on the Nomad site.

I think there is a planned community and new university in the works for this area. A new TJ suburb?
