FlyFishing tournament in Comondu
I think this is a first in Baja...the tourism department sent me this poster. Maybe some of you in that area can offer more info on this.

This torneo will be coordinated out of Lopez Mateos, with fishing in the estero south to Devil's Bend and north to the fish camp. Fly fishing,
fishing from kayaks, catch and release, etc. are all touched upon in the rules. If there are questions, Bob and Diana Hoyt of Mag Bay Outfitters can

FISHING TOURNAMENT Comondu TOWN
INTRODUCTION
The sports and recreational fishing is a category of fishing that is practiced for recreational purposes, linking humans with nature, particularly to
fisheries resources. The sports and recreational fishing is an important source of revenue generating, as it contributes significantly to the national
economy, among other things by its ability to earn foreign exchange, generate employment and promote regional development and its benefits spread to
other activities a multiplier effect on the tourism sectors, fisheries and service.
In order to promote sports and recreational fishing in various fishing communities in the Municipality of Comondú Comprehensive Program of Inspection
and Supervision of the Central Pacific Area Fund for the Protection of Marine Resources (Fonmar) conduct a fishing tournament in sports and
recreational the method of catch and release (catch and release) called "Fonmar 2010 ____ day of the month de___ 2010, at __:___.
Prior to the tournament days in advance and will form a working group which will be composed of various authorities such as H. City of Comondu,
MINISTER OF TOURISM, SAGARPA-CONAPESCA, PROFEPA, Harbor Master and Fonmar also with the presence of special guests. Where you are asked to each of the

OBJECTIVE
Make a fishing tournament to promote sports and recreational fishing in various fishing communities in the municipality of Comondu.
STRENGTHS PROJECT
In this tournament is expected a large influx of American and Canadian fishermen fly fishing where it already had contact with the business mag bay
who says that to date we have 35 possible fly fishing beginners.
By service providers in the port of Adolfo Lopez Mateos where the tournament will be held lend us space on the esplanade of the lighthouse to install
tents for sponsors who will exhibit their products. During the 3 day tournament.
Electro plumbing company in South California will have 50 shirts and 50 caps,
Abraham electronics support us with coolers and thermoses raffle
Arjona agency caps T-shirts and items for raffles.
It will also have the support of the Baja Eco Tours for the transportation of persons who come from abroad to the tournament for their transfer to the
municipality.
At the request of the company mag bay we proposed to discuss with the flight company (Volaris) to see how they can participate in a promotion in
support of tourism that would come from abroad in the participation in this tournament so that is taken into account and look for the contact for this
promotion.
REGULATION OF FISHING TOURNAMENT "Fonmar 2010
1. The tournament will be held on 13,14 and August 15, 2010.
2. The tournament is open to all people who are properly registered by boat from 10 feet to 26 feet and Kayak and to be committed to comply with the
provisions of the tournament rules and abide by the provisions of the judges.
3. The tournament will be catch and release (catch and release).
4. Registration will begin July 1, 2010 until the 30th of same month and year before the tournament and no refund for any reason in case of refusal to
participate further in the tournament.
5. Each angler must have at time of registration their individual sports fishing permit in force.
6. Each boat will bring more than two fishermen and the captain can not participate as a fisherman for fishermen's safety.
7. Only one line is permitted only in the water by fisherman, otherwise they will be disqualified.
8. The fishing area of the tournament will be from the fishing camp of the devil curve to the mouth of Santo Domingo in the Bahía Magdalena lagoon
complex where bounded by polygons.
9. shall be established three strategic locations within the lagoons where there will be a surveillance craft for every point, which will be manned by
the captain of a rescue boat itself will serve as a witness and a judge where the vessel is announced via radio or cell capture his fish, which will

10. The tournament will consist of two categories one pole with reel and fly line other than 20 lbs. each craft categories will walk always controlled

11. There will be no minimum weight limit or catch and participate with maximum weight.
12. For the fishermen who caught fishing outside the area as well as using other fishing gear is not specified, or anchored or moored surprise will be
automatically disqualified. Only be docked or moored in the event of mechanical failure.
13. The first prize in each of the categories will be snook, grouper the second and third long snapper and presented live in scale to be released.
Otherwise it will be heavy in scale and therefore not participate in the tournament.
14. All vessels are required to register both as the departure time of arrival, vessel does not leave the place specified shall disqualify this will
be reported before the starting gun, radio or cell phone.
15. No fishing will be allowed to live bait fishing will be surprised that disqualified according to the NOM-PESC-017 which does not allow live bait
fishing in inland waters. And not primed.

That would be GREAT if this has success. Both my son's love to fly fish and definitely like the catch and release.
Hope to hear more about it after it happens.

It looks like one of these Governors Cup tournaments. Asuncion Governors Cup fishing tournament is on the same weekend so it will be interesting to
see where all the dignitaries that usually show up for these events will be...the governor always comes here to award the prizes and kiss the
ladies...I guess he will just fly around alot that day.

No, I don't believe this one is a Governor's Cup, although I'm sure the governor would be welcome if he runs out of ladies to kiss in Asuncion.

On the poster it says Governors Cup...which is why I wondere about it...glad to see flyfishing and kayak fishing promoted!!!
