Here's a translation of a different article, same subject. This is way to close to Sharky's.
-------------

In what appears to be an execution, a man was killed Monday afternoon in the Ejido Esteban Cantu a few meters from his home and business.
The deceased was identified at the scene as Salvador Sanchez Ponce 45 years of age, it was a known ejidatario of that community.
The incident took place on Calle Eduardo Gomez or "F" Ejido Esteban Cantu and Highway to La Bufadora, around 13:20 hours in the afternoon.

According to the testimonies of various people in the scene, the murderer was one person, a young man who had never before seen.
This subject, arrived and asked a person who was outside a business on the side of the road, who minutes later was to become his victim.
The person was an employee of the now deceased, who was on the same block where he was killed, at the foot of the hill a business with caterpillars and dump trucks to supply stone and gravel.

The thought that they were looking for a play and told him he was the man who at the time he walked toward his business from home also in the same street.
The now deceased was then approached by the murderer who shot him at close range, apparently four times with a gun leaving him mortally wounded.

The shooting led to local residents who were among family members and workers of the victim, came out to see what was happening unsuccessfully trying to help the wounded.
As the attacker escaped on board a van-type unit, presumably a gray Explorer, without being able to indicate whether he had directed toward the tip of Punta Banda peninsula at the tip of the tongue or returned to Sandy Maneadero .
A Red Cross unit, arrived at the scene several minutes later, after traveling from Ensenada to almost 30 minutes away which despite the efforts of paramedics and could do nothing for him.

Also mounted in the immediate vicinity of a strong integrated operational by members of the Municipal Police Maneadero delegations and the same Esteban Cantu, ministerial and State Preventive Police to try to locate the drive that used the alleged murderer.
At the scene arrived on Agent State Law Ministry to mark the body itself which was built shortly thereafter by the Forensic Medical Service unit to take to the morgue and autopsy practice of law

I'm waiting for Bajatripper to tell bacquito, "shame, shame, shame...Shame on you!" And then for mtgoat666 to say the motivation for posting the pic here was for "ghoulish voyeuristic titilation..."

Yikes! Maybe I should write of Punta Banda and environs as areas to which I should consider a move! Seems they may be too close to the border for me!

I shoot .40 and 10mm and the choice of weapons and ammo ain't cheap. Coupled with the fact the victim was shot 4 times tells me that this was probably not armed robbery. ;D

The victim was playing in the wrong sandbox.

Can you even find any 10mm ammo? I went into to a local dealer last week to buy a Model 20 Glock and the shop said they would love to sell me one but that haven't been able to get any ammo for three months? I see the custom ammo makers have some at a $1 a round. Besides handloading do you have any other suggestions. TIA

I did a quick Google and found several outlets. It's out there. Ain't cheap though. I'm a reloader so for me it's not an issue.

Glock 20 is a damn fine gun. You might also consider buying the .40 barrel. I have one for my 29 but rarely fire it. I prefer 10mm and I down load a bit.

Georgia Arms has reasonable prices though their loads are pretty mild:

For the good "hot" 10mm I like Double Tap, but like you say it's pricey

I was just in that area the day before.....sheesh... Not on topic, but we went to surf this place over there that to get to, we drove this insane little road on the side of the cliff, and then repelled down an unbelievably sketchy rope down the same cliff. Anybody been to this place? There's a bunch of Tuna pens and and big rock outside. Needless to say I didn't have a good time, but lived. Now there's random shootings in broad daylight, I think I'll be staying at San Miguel.

From the sounds of it you were at E. Kennedy. I've gone down that rope. My opinion is that it is a beautiful area

The shooting wasn't random, and most likely had nothing to do with border proximity. I think Dennis, and Dave both nailed it. This was a personal thing that was likely over money, and something that can happen anywhere. True enough that having it happened where it did is certainly little comfort to those living in the area.

Just as an aside, in reading Dennis' translation post, who wants to bet that the perp headed out toward La Buf?
