Look for them, they are headed south!
We met some of these guys last year when they made a quick visit to Bahia Asuncion and flew around just a bit.
This year, like last year, they left as quickly as they arrived. They head into town, spend a night at the Verduzco Hotel and then they are off. But
this year they are heading south, with four support vehicles that have more electronics then a Best Buy Store.
Interesting group as most are from the San Diego area, but one is from Guadalajara, another Panama and one from New York.
Hope you enjoy what they are doing, and if you are along the Pacific Coast south of us, look for them during the next 4 or 5 days.

Thank you for looking---this special show took place just down the way from our home----they set up and took off from some land that has been cleared
for an RV park in the future.

I am just not sure that I would like hanging out at the bottom of a king sized sheet and then mounting a food processer onto my back. JH

Wow...excellent photo report. We saw them pass over the campground on their way down the coast and I was wondering what the heck the rigs were like so
the close ups of the gear was great..thanks. I love the photo of the guy jumping off the cliff and the teeny surfer in the water under him. What a
cool sport and certainly turned all heads upward in the village yesterday. I notice they have camera gear on the helmet...do you know if they are
making a video...love to see it.
Their land rigs got alot of attention as they rolled through town...a couple of tricked out hummers...one even had a custom camper built on it!!! cant
miss em.

for only a smidgeon more one can get a decent weight shift or stick controlled mico light with a regallo wing and actually go places, and at speeds
10X what the powered chutes will do.
they are for "hanging" around at local venues. if those guys are really doing x country w truck support thay have a long many days ahead. oh well,
they must dig it.

From fun, great adventure to insane. Me? no way, but it sure was fun watching them and they are having a great adventure.
What was interesting to watch was the tension before take-off, like the one guy straightening the cords, and one wishing him well, and then the
relaxed big smiles as they buzzed over us several times.
Did wonder if anyone would notice that tiny surfer.
The kids on the ATV were obvious, as was the water truck, but we didn't see the surfer until we were processing the pix.
When the water truck reached the little bay to load up, he put the hood up on his truck as if he was having truck problems; we wondered if he just
wanted a longer look.
They plan on taking another 4 or 5 days to go further south and plan on camping along the way. Prior to this, Bahia Asuncion was as far south as they
have done this. They are having a great time and love what they are doing.
Thanks for enjoying the local air show---we sure enjoyed it.

Cute little lawn mowers motors on their backs! I assume they are 2-cycles?
While I have never tried it, I think it looks kind of noisy. I think I prefer watching the guys who ride the thermals w/o motor assist, or gliders
(hang gliders and sail planes). I think the thermal riders are more graceful
Their Hummer looks like Navy flat gray military vehicle. Lots of industrial hardware. Very macho! Bet they are desk jockies w/ soft hands!
Boys and their toys!

NIMBY
We have one in our neighborhood and the first time the whining motor was heard, it was all interesting and looked like fun. Now I find the high
pitched motor flying overheard during a peaceful day very annoying. Sorry but the fun part is over for me.

Thanks to those who enjoyed sharing this unusual experience, or at least unusual for this neighborhood.
And yes,
Some may find it boring, and yes, they could cover more ground with different flying machines. But they seem to love what they are doing. Getting
somewhere faster does not seem to be their goal, and we found watching this far from boring.
Yes, they probably have money and while I shook hands with a number of them, I don't remember if they had soft hands or not. And if you think the
grey Hummer was fancy, you should see the Red Hummer. They may not be as graceful as those without a motor on their back, but they need the motors
for what they are doing. Boys with toys, yes----not much different than fancy fishing boats, motorhomes, expensive bicyles, ATVs, airplanes, or the
ability to have a second home in a beautiful part of Baja.
Yes, they make some noise that probably would not be enjoyed if it was over our home day after day for long periods of time---not as noisy however as
the little boys around here who love to speed on their little quads. But for us, that did not take away the fun of enjoying a small part of their
unique adventure. (And I enjoy seeing the little boys having a great time zooming around)
So, this is the way I see it---just my opinion
With their little flying machines and equipment, they came into town, stayed at the local hotel, ate at a local restaurant, bought more supples, all
of which is a tiny boost to the economy.
I personally hate flying. I only fly when I really want to travel, and I only ride the Soarin' Over California at California Adventure because my
grandson loves it, and he loves seeing grandma's reaction. I agree with Bajamedic about the sheet and food processor. But I can and do understand
that for some, this activity would be a great thrill. The smiles on their faces as they buzzed over said it all and made me smile.
South of here, they are going to see and enjoy a beautiful pristine coast line in a unique way---a way most of us will never see it---flying slow and
low.
So I wish them well and very much enjoyed sharing a tiny bit of their adventure with them. Upon leaving the area, one of them in one of the trucks
waved and yelled, "See ya next year!", and we hope we do.

Good photos, Diane. We saw them buzzing around Coyote Bay a few months ago. Seems like a fine way to see the countryside.
Over the years, we've seen an amazing amount and variety of flying machines. From hot air balloons to small jets. Always a treat to see. Thanks for
sharing the great pics and story.
