Dish Network Signal Levels in Mulege/Loreto/Cuidad Constitucion

Can anyone report on their Dish Network signal levels in the area south of Mulege to Cuidad Constitucion? After Dish Network recently changed out their main satellite at 119°, it looks like this area lost signal entirely.

Thanks

Hey, Alan

I plan on moving to East Cape for 1/2 the year and Bahia Asuncion the other half.
My question:

Winegard makes an RV dish for DIRECTV, called the TRAV'LER DIRECTV KA/KU.
It is supposed to pick up (simultaneously) KU 101, 110, 119 and KA 99 & 103.
It's being sold on the WWW for about $1,100 + installation.

Is it worth buying for my RV?
It currently is equipped with an in-motion DSS dish inside a dome.

Thanks for your reply!
Udo

Signal Level Footprint Map

Here is a map of the signal level showing the cutoffs. It shows this area now as needing a 450 CM dish. Hijole!

Not an expert on DirecTV but I can tell you it doesn't work in BCS in the Los Cabos Region. No signal here on the main 101 and 110 satellites. I don't know about 99 or 103, never tried to pick them up. You might get something off the 119 but not sure what channels are there.

The 95 W satellite carries DirecTV Latin America, and IT DOES work in this area.

Bob and Susan, did you notice if your signal went generally up or down after the satellite swap in June/July?

I lost majors and then they came back spotty, so I finally got tired of the mess and went to Sky which is working great. Fox would come in at weird times. One of the guys here at San Lucas Cove has both Direct and Dish and he feels like he has covered all the major chanels and gets all of the sporting events.

450cm. dish = 14.76 feet.

That's a honkin' dish!
So I can plan on watching tv for 6 months while @BA, and plan on getting a plan for SKY while in East Cape, huh?

I'll be happy to subscribe to your services, Alan.

But Mulege is above the necessary 15' dish, Bob (or Susan).

Astonished I haven't heard from anyone in the Loreto area. Should be someone there with Dish Network?

You also need to know what size of a dish people are using. We travel with a 36" and a 48" dish. Makes a big difference! We have not been down below Kino Bay, Son. since the change but we will find out soon!

I have DirectTV in Loreto..Working with a 1 mtr dish..
Limited channels = 4, 7, 11, espn, A&E and few others.
Lost CBS last year.. None of the music channels came back.

Since we have a place up north for billing..it is only $5 month for the reciever and gets the job done...

Agreed, that would be nice to know. But, at this point, I'd like to hear if anyone near Loreto can even pick up Dish Network at all.
