I appalaud the fed's decision.
As stated in the article, that was a immense project and was too close to an environmentally sensitive area.
It is just as well...A lot of money and project building that would have been dependent upon tourism.

...and if the road in remains unpaved, it's all good. Those signs of impending major development were nicely rusting away, but it's annoying that the
areas have been fenced off...until graders move in, the natural habitat offers good protection for a variety of uses.
When the way comes to an end, then change. Having changed, you pass through.

Not many people that I know want this Mega project, but when you've
spent over 200 mil on dirt, and bought up all the chain link fence, and
prison wire in Mexico, I'd wager their land shark lawers are preping their
apeal, and suitcasing up the mordida to pass under the Huge new table
that their having custom built.

Amen to that Surfer Jim...that is what happened in Cozumel when the cruise ships wanted to build a docking pier over one of the best reefs that took
Mother Nature hundreds of years to make.
Hard to compete with the big bucks...no matter how many the signatures and money the scuba divers and dive shops collected.
Hopefully that will not happen in Cabo Pulmo.

Ive been listening to Cabo Mil and just read the Sud Californiano and both are saying that this project is still going ahead. From what I understand
they are modifying some issues to comply with Semarnat, but all the rhetoric points to huge confidence that this project is a go. Including the
governor. Did I miss something?

probably a bad location but you can't stop development - it is required for a 3rd world country that is an emerging market or its people will strangle
in poverty.
most all of baja will become commercially enhanced over the next 50 years one way or another. its called mananafiesta destino.
