It is in Plaza Nautica which is next to Tersora which is the old Plaza Las Glorias.
I just took longlegs there last week because it is not easy to find. Do you know where Tanga Tanga is? We could start from there.

Thanks judy. I'm not sure where any of that is. I'm guessing it's in Cabo and not San Jose? I know where the traffic circle by the Mega in SJ and the
Cabo marina are, can you direct me from either one of those?

It's right next to the marina in Cabo. Why not give them a call first to see if they can notarize or if someone else can:

When I go to the Consulate from La Paz, I park in the lot of what used to be CCC and take a taxi the rest of the way into town. The fare is very
reasonable and it saves the hassle of dealing with traffic and mostly non-existent parking.
Also, call to make sure they are willing and able to Notarize anything. Last year I had to make a special trip to the 'States because Consulate
personnel claimed they had not been empowered with Notary ability and the Apostille process was more complicated than I wanted to deal with.

Hola DT, we just took a friend there and it is in cabo, not san jose. he did confirm that a notary would be there at our arrival and it took about 30
minutes and about $ 50.00 U.S. EACH to notarize two documents. it's off the big one way street main drag about a block from the harbor and the only
way we could figure out how to get there was to go way west of it, go southerly about ten or so blocks, go east back to the one way and make a left
turn onto the main one way. whew !
it's just northerly, very walkable distance of bisbee's, about a half city block, on another one way street and the parking was non-existent. you
should have another driver with you as he/she will probably have to drive around as we had to do it three times around the town. parking is strictly
enforced.
sorry, but we didn't take any street names down.
come on by and i'll draw a map for you from my withered memory and i will also try and find it for you on my cabo map.

The Consular office is difficult to find the first time. It is not on a main road, but is in back of the Plaza Nautica building on an alley. Not
very impressive. There is a public parking structure about 2 blocks from the office. 10pesos per hour for parking.
I have attached a Wikimapia map with the "x' on the office. I hope this works.

Ain't it great how they've gotten rid of almost all free public parking? Taxi unions must love it.

WOW
Ok going into San Lucas there is only one street now and it is Card##as. Just stay on the same road as you come into town on from San Jose. You will
pass the Mar de Cortez Hotel on your right. Go two blocks and take a left(San Lucas is the name of the street). Three blocks, you will see a small
traffic circle, take a left. Tesora will be on your right. There is a parking lot there but I am not sure who can use it. Just past this hotel, you
will see another parking lot just past Tanga Tanga, go in there(go slowly or you will miss it and around the block isnt an option;it is all the way
around town again) Park in this lot. It is not cheap but is very convenient. This lot is between Tesora and Plaza Nautica. The consulate faces the
marina on the back side of plaza nautica. OXXO's map marks the place!
Just went back to double check the map. It is old and shows parking in front of the consulate...not happening. But it does show the parking lot I
was talking about which is between Hooters and Nik San. That road is one way out of town not two way as indicated by map. The route I gave you is
not entirely on that map but if you mouse over the yellow road in the left hand upper corner, you will see Mar de Cortez and the Town Square where you
take a left. Likewise the traffic circle is not on the map but would be in the left hand bottom corner.

DT, OR you do what I did....you U2U BajaJudy....make arrangements to meet her somewhere any old non-Cabo familiar boob could find,
entice her with a free lunch to climb in the car & tell you where to go....she relished the telling me where to go part!

I'd recommend e-mailing (usconsulcabo@yahoo.com) & making an appointment to be sure what you need done is possible & the person who does it
will be there & available the day & time you go....I had to do some juggling around their schedules of who would be there when I went.....'er
when BajaJudy told me where to go!

Well, I did it. Thanks to the help of my fellow Nomads I was able to go straight to the American Consulate, get my documents notarized, walk over to
mailboxes etc. and send them off.
Thanks for all your help, I hate to single anyone out but oxxo's google map was "the bomb".
I knew that they were going to charge me $50us per page for the stamps (2 of them) and had resigned myself to it but when they quoted 13.5 to 1 to pay
with pesos I really felt violated. Later, upon reflection I realized that I was in a foreign country (US Consulate would be considered US soil?) and I
should have used local currency.......dt

Hola dt, i'm glad you finally found the hidden consulate.
13.5 to one !!!! if i go there, will they exchange american dollars at that rate ? currently, it's about 12.6 to 1, that's a fantastic rate.
unfortunately, it's really difficult to get around cabo unless you're aware of where to go, at least, for me. i guess they have the mindset that
people will get off the cruise ships so they do not need to cater to people that normally drive here ? more tourista money than local money ?
i'm glad you finally accomplished your notary mission as i was curious.

Thanks rat, mission accomplished.
13.5 to 1 would have been a great rate if I was buying pesos but as I was buying dollars at that rate it sucked.
