Baja Almanac correction: San Juanico / Scorpion Bay
I took a fair amount of time to analyze what was going on both in the location of the old dirt road and new road construction in July 2010 before
creating this update between San Juanico / Scorpion Bay and Las Barrancas while driving back to La Purisima & Ciudad Insurgentes. Link to larger image.

I came in the long way in July. But took the red couch route out after being told of it in town. Shaved something like 6 or so miles of dirt road, and
was alot easier road. The wife and kids were very appreciative.

map makers purposflly (WOW) make wrong exits, intersections, addresses so when the next guy makes a map with the original mistakes there is a clear
case of copyright violations.
or it could just be a mexican map.......

Yes, I've heard that before. Although in this case, I think it's simply "progress" and change.

Everyone's welcome. I'll see if I can add to David's Hwy. 5 update this week with pics & video when I return from the Baja 1000 and explorations
along the new highway construction.

Don't you just love a place where you can give directions for a turn in a route using a piece of cast-off furniture with the confidence that the
'marker' will remain for a while?
...and this isn't just in Baja California either. We've received overland directions in Africa, Canada, and, yes, the western parts of the U.S. where
jetsum was an integral part of the information.

P.S. Oh yes, and 'thanks' for the updated information.
