The Pigs Found a Home

Earlier we posted a baby pig made by a local artist for our pig garden that is in honor of Pig Beach---the name old timers gave our beach because of a pig farm that was located in this area a long time ago.

Well, our friend, Alberto (Moreno) the local artist who created baby pig, created mama pig and built them a home.

Part of it is not dry yet, some touch up paint is still needed, and a little more rock in one area, but it is almost there and we love it. BTW---we had no idea how this was going to come out. We simply gave him an idea and he ran with it and did what he thought was best.

And Moreno wanted a photo with our dogs, but they were not cooperating until we put them in a sit and stay and they ended up looking like they were posing like the pigs!

A fun project with a friend and local artist---we were all pleased with the results.

Hope you enjoy it!

When we just had baby pig, a friend suggested that we might highlight some of the areas with some artist charcol. I agree. So we bought some, but we do not know what we are going to do.

John thinks that adding any color would be like adding color to the statue of David---but the original artist wants some color in the carved areas, so this is still very undecided.

We do not know yet what the weather will add to this art work, so for now, we are on hold. As this is something new to ALL of us, all suggestions are appreciated and will be considered.

Diana

What great pigs, Diane! Very unique and appropo to your property. The 'garden' is looking good, too.
Please do keep us posted on how this look changes over time.

They look very nice, and I like the proud artist too! Diana, I am interested in a pair of dolphins like your oinkers for my wife. :light:Could you speak to your artist for me please? I would need to be able to haul them to La Paz. It would make her Christmas to see those by our pool! She is a dolphin freak ever since I started taking her fishing.

He did do a nice job and it is fun!

Moreno is supposed to be making some dolphins for our next door neighbors----I don't know how big you are talking about, and they are rather heavy as they are solid rock---he also does beautiful metal work---made a couple of calicos for someone for their fence.

I will talk to him next week, but what size do you think? Oh, he also built the rock platform for the pigs and then added the cement behind them---quite thick.

Well, just shy of 6ft long will fit in the bed of my truck. Your pigs look about that size. I can get them mounted, temporary at the rental, then permamently when we build or buy. Thanks Diana, let me know!
