The statement that the killing may have been done by "poorly disciplined Zeta gunmen acting without permission" makes a lot more sense than "pirates"
doing it.
The statement that Los Zetas No. 2 man, Miguel “Z-40” Trevino Morales, wants to execute the gunmen who killed Hartley, meaning that the shooters will
never be found [at least in one piece], arrested or tried, also seems to have a ring of truth to it...Los Zetas have probably lost a key smuggling
route across that lake due to the all the pressure to find the killers by both the US and MX authorities....Miguel has to be peeed.
“Pirates” I guess that’s how the government deals with the drug
smugglers, simply attach another name to them to disguise what’s really going on on the border
Truth generally lies in the coordination of antagonistic opinions

A Rose by any other Name.
Or, Turds, in this case.
It's a bit silly how so many people and the media got wrapped up in the "Pirates" word. Once it had been uttered by a (possibly) Hysterical woman,
EVERYBODY jumped on that single word, many pontificating and staking out positions based upon an assessment of PIRATE Activity.
It was simply a Poor Choice of words. Assuming her story is true, SHE had no idea who those people were.
It's the media's fault for using and abusing a Buzzword and the public's fault for focusing on it.

Nice post Bajaguy, but shouldn't that map show the Arellano Felix influence all the way up into Northern Nevada?

The influence goes up to and into Canada... a few weeks ago, there was a significant bust in Vancouver involving a Mexican connection.
No idea why they would be bringing weed up here? Like bringing coals to Newcastle Cocaine and meth is part of that circuit...
Don't believe everything you think....

What's missing from "STRATFOR's" tea leave analysis and autonomous sources is Tiffany Hartley's constantly changing story as to what happened on the
lake; lack of physical evidence; her lack of grieving when compared to other family members; no willingness to take a polygraph to end doubts about
her story from the Mexican side as well the US side, and the physical logistics of the story going down as Hartley claims.
Although this is a political charged case and the State department and media are handling this case with kit gloves. It looks like both the Mexican
investigators and the FBI might doubt her story from the number of hours they were getting a "witness statement" from her. It was something like 16
hours over two days. Hartley says the long delays were to due to translation issues.

KIT Gloves ?
"........the State department and media are handling this case with kit gloves. It looks like...."
Most people use pre-assembled Gloves, don't they ? Why would they buy a kit to use for her ?
